A unique night at The Garden where we found that today's technology can actually enhance our faith life. We explored podcasts, apps, websites and music streaming that all points us to Jesus!
This fictional novel written by Anita Diamant brought us into the world of Dinah, the daughter of the patriarch Jacob and one of his wives, Leah. Her true story is found in Genesis but the pages of Daimant's book took us into the fascinating biblical world and showed us what life might have been life in and around 1800 BC. More that that, The Red Tent, highlighted for us what lessons we might share with these Biblical women and how their stories can change ours.
Our real life "Faith" and "Fear" ladies magnified what faith and fear look and sound like in our daily lives. Most importantly, we discovered God's desire for each of us to live faithfully and fearfully. Powerful teaching from Susan Hagen gave us suggestions on how to face fear and build faith every single day!
We are created to worship and we were made to praise! This month at The Garden we discovered that the Hebrew word for PRAISE translates to seven different words in English! We explored music and praise in a whole new way!
Our inaugural evening at The Garden was a beautiful introduction to our vision for this exciting new ministry at Advent -- especially for women. We discovered what God's Word says about gardens and explored God's purposes for His children in the Garden of Eden, the Garden of Gethsemane and finally the Garden Tomb. In each garden we see the incredible picture of God's love for us and His deep desire to draw us closer to Him. Lavender-infused lemonade and delectable treats made this very first Garden, a night to remember!
